Remember when rock n' roll was good? We do...

The Point is Live and Local Rock N Roll featuring primarily rock from the 60’s and 70’s with a smattering of 80’s and 90's rock plus Motown hits and deeper cuts to add flavor. The Point targets Adults 35-64 with a male skew, has a very strong local business following and great coverage into the Eel River Valley and SoHum areas. Though we get deep into the hills and as far north as Brookings, OR.

More than what we play is who we are, our attitude, you know? Like many of the pioneers who made the music we adore, we're not fond of sticking to the straight and narrow. If it's buttoned-up or buttoned-down we're likely to bust its chops...all while making a good deal of fun of ourselves.

You turn on The Point when you feel like forgetting your troubles or just plain rockin' out. We're not political. We're musical. We just want to kick it and get back to when the music was made by musicians not computers. Check out the other pages to learn more about the music and our audience. It's over there on the left. Your other left. ;-)

KWPT "The Point" is classic rock for people who really, really love classic rock.

MEET THE DJs.

Chuck Rogers

Mon-Fri 12PM-6PM

Prior to working at The Point, Chuck was the Executive Producer of a syndicated radio talk show, "A World of Possibilities," based in Arcata, CA. Before that, he worked as a journalist at CBS and ABC TV as well as several radio stations across the country. Chuck grew up in Louisiana and his love of music is directly traceable to his roots.

The Afternoon show is a foray into the best of what album-oriented rock and classic rock can be, delivered in the dulcet golden voiced tones of the one and only Chuck Rogers.

Jay AKA Goldilocks

Mon-Fri 6AM-12PM

Growing up in McKinleyville, CA everyone called him Big Jay, partly because he's a big guy, but also because he has a big heart. Jay LOVES vinyl and has a collection that spans many genres. In his spare time, you’ll find him cooking, shopping for new records, DJing local events, taverns and parties and hanging with his dog Paco.

"I really love music! I explored the forests and beaches of Humboldt while listening to Led Zeppelin and The Traveling Wilburys. When it rained, I was inside dancing to records from Elton John and Supertramp. Simply put, Rock & Roll shaped my childhood and so it's an absolute pleasure to be your morning DJ."

Tune in and rock out 6am to noon Monday through Friday.
